PBT yarn and its application

Fiber of Polybutylene Terephthalate is short for PBT fiber.It has both features of PET and PA and some characteristics is better than PET and PA. PBT came to the international market as engineering plastic in 1970s,it was applied in electrical,automobile and equipment manufacturing industry.In late 1970s,PBT was began used in textile sector as staple fiber carpet. In early 1980s,PBT was processed to texturised yarn,became a kind of stretch yarn with characteristics in international market. After ten years of development,PBT fiber has been a new style of polyester fiber which applied in textile domain as texturised yarn,filament yarn,staple fiber and modified fiber. PBT has good spinnability,can be made cival use yarn or industrial yarn through traditional melting process.

PBT not only can be normally spinned,but also can be high speed spinned to produce thin filament yarn,it can be produced composite yarn with PET and PP material,in order to improve the dyeability or elasticity of polyester or nylon. PBT can be made POY,due to its crystallization,the elongation of breakage can be 80-90%,and its shrinkage in boiling water is 3%-4%,obviously lower than what of PET,whose breaking elongation is 120% and 50%. PBT has good rigidity and shape stability,and its bulkiness and crimpiness are excellent.
